Calcutta University students without 60% attendance cannot appear for exams
The Calcutta University authorities on Saturday asked affiliated colleges to ensure that students were not allowed to appear for examinations if their attendance is below 60%. It was decided that students will not be given honors if they get below 40% marks in a stream. Also, they will not be eligible for pass if they secured below 30% marks in both theory and practicals.
More 'Multiple Choice-type Questions' from the next academic session
CU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dipak Kar informed principals of several colleges at a meeting that 60% attendance is a must for appearing in examinations for undergraduate and post-graduate courses. Kar also said there would be more Multiple Choice-type Questions (MCQ) across all streams from the next academic session. From the next academic session, Bengali, English, and Environment answer sheets will be in OMR format, he said.
