CRPF opens help-desk for Amarnath pilgrims at Jammu-Tawi station
Now pilgrims going to the cave-shrine of Amarnath can receive information about their trip from the newly-opened help-desk 'Madadgar' (helper) by the CRPF at a railway station in Jammu. "The desk has been set up at platform number one at Jammu-Tawi Railway Station and would provide guidance to pilgrims coming from various parts of India," Public Relations Officer of CRPF Ashish Kumar Jha said.
Help-desk to run 24 hours, two CRPF personnel for assistance
Jha said the help-desk would remain functional round-the-clock and two personnel of the force would be available to pilgrims for assistance. Jha, who is also commandant of the 166th battalion, said all kinds of information, ranging from base camps, stay arrangements and climatic conditions, will be available at the desk. He added that CPRF personnel are briefing pilgrims about the new initiative.
CRPF earlier launched special motorcycle squad for pilgrims' security
This year, the CRPF also has introduced a special motorcycle squad for the security of pilgrims. "Some of these are fixed with life-saving equipment and could also double as "small ambulances, carrying one person at a time besides the rider who is carrying CCTV-camera attached to his helmet," Jha said. He said the CRPF keeps the service of the people among its top priorities.
