Coronavirus: India's tally reaches 11.4 million with 25K+ new cases
India on Monday reported more than 25,000 fresh coronavirus infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 11.4 million cases. Meanwhile, at least 130 more patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,58,911. Maharashtra, which is the worst-hit state in India, continued to report a high daily positivity rate in coronavirus infections. Here are more updates.
Health Ministry confirms 1,13,85,339 COVID-19 cases, 1,58,725 deaths
Till Monday morning, the Health Ministry had reported 1,13,85,339 COVID-19 cases, including 1,58,725 deaths, 2,19,262 active cases, and 1,10,07,352 recoveries. According to data compiled from state/UT statistics, India reported 1,14,09,613 cases and 1,58,911 deaths till Monday night. Over 11 million have recovered. 3,17,71,661 people were vaccinated in India till 7 pm on Monday and a total of 18,63,623 beneficiaries were vaccinated on the day.

Maharashtra: 23,29,464 total cases, 52,909 deaths, 21,44,743 recoveries. Kerala: 10,92,324 total cases, 4,407 deaths, 10,60,560 recoveries. Karnataka: 9,61,204 total cases, 12,397 deaths, 9,39,928 recoveries. Andhra Pradesh: 8,92,008 total cases, 7,185 deaths, 8,83,380 recoveries. Tamil Nadu: 8,60,562 total cases, 12,551 deaths, 8,42,862 recoveries. Delhi: 6,44,064 total cases, 10,944 deaths, 6,30,799 recoveries. Uttar Pradesh: 6,05,441 total cases, 8,748 deaths, 5,94,855 recoveries.
15K new cases in Maharashtra; Karnataka reports 932 fresh infections
15,051 more people tested positive in Maharashtra with 92,363 tests on Monday. At 16.3%, the state continued to record a high daily positivity rate. Karnataka reported 932 new cases. Gujarat reported 890 new cases, pushing the state's tally to 2,79,097, which includes 4,425 deaths and 2,69,955 recoveries. 743 new cases took Madhya Pradesh's tally to 2,68,594, which includes 3,887 deaths and 2,59,967 recoveries.
Delhi reports 368 more cases; 1.8K fresh infections in Punjab
368 more people tested positive in Delhi. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.6% with 62,272 tests conducted on Monday. Punjab reported a spike of 1,843 new cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,99,573. 6,099 patients have died in the state while 1,81,532 have recovered. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh reported 1,054, 836, 151, and 147 new cases respectively.
