Coronavirus: India's tally reaches 10.84 million with 8K+ new cases
India on Monday reported more than 8,000 fresh coronavirus infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 10.84 million cases. Meanwhile, at least 70 more patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,55,216. Kerala, which is among the worst-hit Indian states, continued to report a high daily positivity rate in coronavirus infections. Here are more updates.
Health Ministry confirms 1,08,38,194 COVID-19 cases, 1,55,080 deaths
Till Monday morning, the Health Ministry reported 1,08,38,194 cases, including 1,55,080 deaths, 1,48,609 active cases, and 1,05,34,505 recoveries. According to data compiled from state/UT statistics, India reported 1,08,47,676 cases and 1,55,216 deaths till Monday night. Over 10.54 million have recovered. 60,35,660 people have been vaccinated. The Ministry said there's no evidence that the 23 deaths that occurred after vaccination were caused by the vaccine.

Maharashtra: 20,46,287 total cases, 51,325 deaths, 19,58,971 recoveries. Kerala: 9,72,180 total cases, 3,883 deaths, 9,02,627 recoveries. Karnataka: 9,42,846 total cases, 12,239 deaths, 9,24,654 recoveries. Andhra Pradesh: 8,88,485 total cases, 7,160 deaths, 8,80,363 recoveries. Tamil Nadu: 8,42,261 total cases, 12,387 deaths, 8,25,520 recoveries. Delhi: 6,36,160 total cases, 10,882 deaths, 6,24,182 recoveries. Uttar Pradesh: 6,01,455 total cases, 8,691 deaths, 5,89,322 recoveries.
3.7K new cases in Kerala; Maharashtra reports 2.2K fresh infections
Kerala reported 3,742 new cases, marking a daily positivity rate of 7.8% with 47,927 tests. The Centre has asked states to limit the positivity rate under 5%. 2,216 more people tested positive in Maharashtra, marking a daily positivity rate of 6.8% with 32,354 tests. In Chhattisgarh, daily infections stood at 265. The tally has climbed to 3,07,790, including 3,744 deaths and 2,99,856 recoveries.
Delhi reports 119 more cases; 193 fresh infections in Bengal
125 more people tested positive in Delhi. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.22% with 55,390 tests conducted on Monday. West Bengal reported a spike of 119 new cases, pushing the state's tally to 5,71,490. 10,209 patients have died in the state while 5,56,649 have recovered. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh reported 464, 328, 70, and 62 new cases respectively.
