Coronavirus: India's tally reaches 10.88 million with 12K+ new cases

India on Thursday reported over 12,000 fresh coronavirus infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 10.88 million cases.
However, after the reconciliation of data in Maharashtra, there has been a reduction of 2,645 infections in the state's tally.
Over 80 more patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,55,420.
Kerala continued to report a high daily positivity rate in infections.

Till Thursday morning, the Health Ministry had reported 1,08,71,294 COVID-19 cases, including 1,55,360 deaths, 1,42,562 active cases, and 1,05,73,372 recoveries.
According to data compiled from state/UT statistics, India reported 1,08,80,459 cases and 1,55,505 deaths till Thursday night. Over 10.58 million have recovered.
74,30,866 people were vaccinated in India till 7 pm on Thursday and a total of 4,13,752 beneficiaries were vaccinated on the day.

5.3K new cases in Kerala; Maharashtra reports 3.3K fresh infections
Kerala reported 5,281 new cases, marking a daily positivity rate of 7.3% with 71,656 tests. The Centre has asked states to limit the positivity rate under 5%.
3,297 more people tested positive in Maharashtra, marking a daily positivity rate of 5.9% with 55,136 tests.
In Chhattisgarh, daily infections stood at 254. The tally has climbed to 3,08,472, including 3,759 deaths and 3,01,238 recoveries.

Delhi reports 142 more cases; 217 fresh infections in Bengal
142 more people tested positive in Delhi. The daily positivity rate stood at 0.22% with 64,328 tests conducted on Thursday.
West Bengal reported a spike of 217 new cases, pushing the state's tally to 5,72,032. 10,225 patients have died in the state while 5,57,494 have recovered.
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh reported 481, 430, 179, and 87 new cases respectively.
