Dantewada Naxal attack: Injured cop dies, casualty-count rises to 4
A 35-year-old Assistant Constable, Rakesh Kaushal, who was critically injured during yesterday's Naxal attack in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, died in a private hospital in Raipur today. Kaushal received grievous bullet injuries during the attack and was moved to the Ramkrishna Care Hospital along with the other injured. Kaushal's death takes the number of those killed in the attack to four, said a police official.
Other injured cop in the attack undergoing treatment
In the ambush that occurred near Nilawaya village, Sub Inspector Rudra Pratap Singh, Assistant Constable Manglu and Doordarshan News cameraperson Achyutanand Sahu were killed while two policemen, including Kaushal, were injured. The other injured cop, Vishnu Netam, is undergoing treatment. Officials said the body of Kaushal, a native of Barsoor village (in Dantewada district), will be sent to his native after the autopsy.
