"He was addressing a public rally in Jasrota when he felt uneasy and dizzy. His colleagues helped him into a chair," Congress general secretary Gulam Ahmed Mir told PTI. Congress leader Thakur Balbir Singh said that extreme heat might have caused Kharge's discomfort but assured that he would rest before proceeding with his next program in Ramnagar.

His son, Priyank Kharge, also shared an update on his father's health, saying he's fine now. "He has been checked upon by his medical team and apart from slightly low blood pressure, he is doing well. Extremely grateful for everyone's concern," he wrote on X. Once Kharge regained strength, he reaffirmed his commitment to restoring J&K's statehood, stating, "I'm 83 years old; I'm not going to die so early. I will stay alive till PM Modi is removed from power."
