Smriti Irani has 'bigger bindi'; changes husbands frequently: Congress ally
Congress ally and People's Republican Party (PRP) leader, Jaydeep Kawade, has made sexist remarks against Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday. Stooping to a new low, Kawade said Irani wears a big 'bindi' on her forehead and the size shows the number of husbands she has. He said the 'bindi' size keeps growing as she changes her husbands frequently. Here's more.
Size of bindi keeps growing; changes husbands frequently: Kawade
Kawade said, "Smriti Irani sits beside Gadkari and talks about changing the Constitution." "Let me tell you a thing about Smriti Irani. She wears a big bindi on her forehead and someone told me that when a woman changes her husbands frequently, the size of her bindi keeps growing," the PRP leader further said. Really, what does it even mean?
Changing Constitution not as easy as changing husband: Kawade
"Smriti ji, who is a minister for Gadkari and Modi, sits in the Parliament and talks about changing the Constitution, but she should remember that changing the Constitution is not as easy as changing your husband," said Kawade.
BJP MLA's controversial remarks against BSP chief Mayawati
Kawade's sexist remarks against Irani are the latest in a series of "misogynistic comments" ahead of the Lok Sabha elections against women politicians, including BSP chief Mayawati. On March 19, Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Surendra Singh said Mayawati can't question PM Narendra Modi's lifestyle or his tastes as she does facial every day and colors her hair to look young.
Singh also targeted Haryanvi dancer Sapna Choudhary and Sonia Gandhi
Singh also made controversial remarks against Haryanvi dancer-singer Sapna Choudhary and Sonia Gandhi. He said Sapna joining Congress would suit the Gandhi family, adding she's also a dancer like Sonia. He further suggested Rahul Gandhi should get married to Sapna because both these women are dancers. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also received sexist remarks about her attire and her "pretty face".
