Gutkha, stones, condoms found in samosas supplied to automobile firm
In a bizarre incident, five people were arrested after condoms, gutka, and stones were found inside samosas provided to a prominent auto company in Pimpari Chinchwad, Pune. The suspects include Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, Mazhar Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, and Vicky Shaikh. Two of them were employees of the subcontractor responsible for supplying the samosas while the other three were linked to a firm previously accused of similar misconduct, reports said.
Police uncover plot to defame new contract holder
The police report revealed that "out of the five accused, the three partners had allegedly planted the other two workers to ensure the firm that had gotten the fresh contract would get defamed." Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd., responsible for snack provision at the auto company's canteen, had outsourced samosa supply to Manohar Enterprise. The three accused alleged schemed to tranish Manohar Enterprise's reputation.
Investigation reveals involvement of former contract holder
According to police, two employees from Manohar Enterprises, Firoz and Vicky Shaikh, were allegedly involved in stuffing the samosas with condoms, gutka, and stones. Further interrogation revealed that employees from SRA Enterprises — a firm whose contracts were previously terminated due to adulteration allegations — had sent two people to Manohar Enterprises with an aim to damage its reputation.
Legal action initiated against accused individuals
"The other three accused are the partners of SRA Enterprises, which was removed from the contract earlier after a first aid bandage was found in the samosa supplied to the automobile company," police officials stated. All five suspects are now facing legal action under Indial Penal Code sections 328 (causing harm by means of poison) and 120B (criminal conspiracy). Further investigation is underway, police added.
