Jamshedpur: BDOs directed to complete toilet construction by June 15
The Deputy Commissioner of Jamshedpur's East Singhbhum district Amit Kumar has directed all the Block Development Officers (BDOs) to complete the construction of toilets, as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission by June 15. The district administration has set June 15 as the deadline to declare the district as open defecation free (ODF), an official said. Here are more details.

Kumar also sought an explanation from officials and supervisors of Swachh Bharat Mission about the progress of work and ordered to withhold the salaries of erring officials. He issued directives for dismissal of the block co-ordinator of Baharagora for failing to meet the set deadline. Twelve junior engineers engaged in Swachh Bharat Mission campaign were also show-caused for their absence, the officials said.
