In India, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the most premier technical institutes that offer the best engineering and technology-related education in the country. The IITs offer quality technical education and also attract top companies during the campus placement sessions, grabbing some attractive placement packages too. Here's a list of top 5 IITs and their placement numbers this year.
About the placement sessions at IIT Madras
The first phase of IIT Madras's Placements 2018 concluded in December; 195 companies took part in the placements process. The recruiters made 888 job offers; a total of 1,024 offers, including 136 pre-placement offers, were made. The second phase of the placements would conclude around May 2019. Last year, the highest package was Rs. 95.87 LPA and average salary offered was Rs. 12-20 LPA.
1,122 job offered made under Phase-1 of IIT-Bombay placements
In the first phase of IIT Bombay's Placements 2018, as many as 361 companies had taken part and 1,122 job offers were made to the students. Under Phase-1, the highest domestic CTC offered was Rs. 45 LPA. In the previous year, the highest salary offered was Rs. 1.39 crore per annum while the average salary was Rs. 27 LPA.
IIT Delhi students received 900 job offers under Phase-1
Coming to IIT Delhi, the first phase of 2018 Placements concluded in December. As many as 900 job offers were made to those graduating in 2019. Around 230 companies took part in the first phase. The second phase of the IIT Delhi placements is expected to continue from February to May 2019. For the previous year, the highest package was Rs. 1.4cr per annum.
Over 1,275 job offers made at IIT Kharagpur
At IIT Kharagpur, the Phase-I of the 2018 Placements concluded in December. Under the first phase, as many as 192 companies participated and made over 1,275 job offers to the students Maximum recruitments were made in the IT & Software field. For the previous year, the highest offered package was Rs. 1 crore per annum and the average salary was Rs. 13.3 LPA.
Highest salary offered at IIT-Kanpur last year was Rs. 1.5cr
Phase-I of IIT Kanpur's 2018 Placements concluded in December; the Phase-II was scheduled to begin in January 2019. While 1,045 students participated in Phase-I, 238 companies took part in the process and made 900 job offers. For the previous year, the highest salary was Rs. 1.5 crore per annum while the average salary was Rs. 15.8 LPA.
