#CareerBytes: Comparing placement stats of top Indian Institutes of Management
In India, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are the most sought after B-schools that provide quality management education at the postgraduate, doctoral, and executive levels. These premier management institutes also attract some of the top companies during placements, bagging excellent numbers and packages. Here are the placement details of the IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode, and Lucknow.
139 companies participated in IIM-A placements
IIM-ahmedabad'>IIM Ahmedabad concluded placements for the 2017-19 PGP batch in three clusters in which 139 companies participated. Of a total of 393 students, 385 took part in placements. The IIM has yet to reveal the details of the salary packages of students. However, for last year, the highest salary package was Rs. 72 lakh per annum while the average salary was Rs. 24.45 LPA.
IIM Bangalore recorded 100% placements in 2 days
IIM Bangalore has recorded 100% placements in two days for the 2017-19 PGP batch comprising 411 students this year. All the students who had participated in placements got placed in two days; as many as 488 offers were made to students. The details of the placement packages are yet to be released. At IIM-B, the average salary was Rs. 16.6 LPA last year.
IIM Calcutta also recorded 100% placements this year
This year, IIM Calcutta also recorded 100% placements for the 2017-19 PGP batch. All the 441 students in the batch got placed. While 123 firms from various sectors took part in the placement process, and as many as 501 jobs were offered to the candidates. Last year, IIM-C recorded the highest salary of Rs. 75 LPA and an average salary of Rs. 24.02 LPA.
#4: At IIM-L, all 460 students got placed this year
This year, IIM Lucknow completed its final placements for the 2017-19 PGP batch in a record time of three days. The IIM recorded 100% placements for the batch as all 460 students got placed. There were 147 recruiters who made 460 offers to the students.
Average salary at IIM Kozhikode was Rs. 20LPA
IIM Kozhikode has also recorded 100% placements this year. In the 2017-19 batch comprising 373 students, the IIM witnessed 100% placements for the 366 students who took part in the placement process. There were 107 recruiters and 390 offers were made to the students. The average salary was Rs. 20 lakh per annum compared to Rs. 17.8 LPA during last year's placement season.
#6: IIM Indore records 100% placements for largest batch
IIM Indore has recorded 100% placements for the 2017-19 PGP batch and five-year IPM batch comprising 607 students. Over 200 recruiters took part in the placements process. The highest salary this year was reportedly Rs. 89.25 LPA while the average salary was Rs. 20.79 LPA.
