Kashmir: Colleges, schools closed as students' protest continues
Authorities today shut down several colleges and higher secondary schools in Kashmir to thwart students' protests demanding justice for the eight-year-old victim of the Kathua rape and murder case. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure in view of protests. Colleges were closed in Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, and Ganderbal districts. Such institutions were also closed in other six districts of the valley.
Protests still reported from Sopore and Boniyar
Despite colleges were closed, protests were reported from Sopore and Boniyar towns of Baramulla district. The reports said at least a dozen protestors were hurt in police action. However, police officials claimed otherwise, saying that no one has been reported injured.
