There has been a staggering rise in online shopping globally, over the last few years. And now, it has come to light that half of a coconut shell is being sold for Rs. 1,365 at Amazon, and we are speechless.

On Tuesday, Twitter user Rema Rajeshwari brought to people's attention that 'Natural Coconut Shell Cup' was being sold by US-based Century Novelty at Amazon. But, that's not it. Apparently, people are buying these coconut shells for a hefty amount of Rs. 1,365 and that too after availing a 55% discount. That means Amazon was originally selling the half coconut shell for Rs. 3,000. Really?
'This is actual, real coconut. Therefore, it may have cracks'
What's more intriguing is the product description. "This is an actual, real, coconut. Therefore, it may have cracks, dents, and imperfections. Coconut chips are a must have Hawaiian accessory for tropical themes like Hawaiian Luaus, corporate parties, weddings, and more," the description read.
US customer bought coconut shell for Halloween, gave 5-star rating
Interestingly, the product has got a 3.4 rating on Amazon with many reviews. Obviously, most customers slammed the site for selling such a common item for an absurd price. However, one customer form the US seemed very happy with it. He had bought it for his Halloween costume in 2012 and gave it a 5-star rating commenting, "Exactly what you'd expect."
