Ghaziabad: Class-6 boy murdered by 'friends' who wanted his wristwatch
In a horrifying incident, a 12-year-old boy in Ghaziabad was allegedly brutally murdered by three of his friends over a wristwatch. Sunny, the victim, was a student of Class 6. Recently, he had been gifted a digital watch by a friend, which he lent to other friends. But when Sunny asked for it back, a quarrel ensued, which resulted in murder, police said.
Body was found by younger brother
Sunny stayed with his parents and two siblings in a rented room in Azad Vihar, Khoda, reports TOI. Yesterday, his younger brother Sagar came up around noon after playing with his friends. He then found Sunny in a seated position at the room's entrance, with a stole tied around his neck. The other end was tied to the door's handle.
Police questioned locals but no clues found
Sagar thought Sunny was unconscious and immediately alerted a neighbor, who called up Raju, their father. Raju, a mason, had left home in the morning for work. Their mother and sister were out at work too. Raju arrived at the house soon and rushed Sunny to hospital, but he was declared brought dead. Police questioned locals, but no one had seen anything.
Murder case lodged against three minors
On the basis of Raju's complaint, police have filed a murder case against three minors. According to the complaint, Sunny's watch, costing Rs. 100, had been borrowed by a boy, who had lent it to another boy. Yesterday, when he asked for it back, he was refused. Police suspect one of the three boys, who was physically stronger, overpowered him.
All three live in the same neighborhood as Sunny
According to police, all three are roughly the same age as Sunny and live in the same neighborhood. They have now been booked under Section 302. Sunny's body has been sent for post mortem.
