CBSE declares Class 12 results: Two girls topped the exams
Ending weeks of anticipation of students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared results for Class 12 on Thursday. Students can visit CBSE's website- www.cbseresults.nic.in to check the same. On the website, you will be required to click on the relevant stream. You will be asked to enter details like roll number etc. The results will be displayed on the screen.
Trivandrum emerged as best performing region, Chennai took second spot
Hansika Shukla and Karishma Arora have topped the CBSE Class 12 exams scoring 499 marks each. Notably, a total of 31,14,831 candidates registered for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations in 2019. The top-performing region in 2019 was Trivandrum with a pass percentage of 98.2%. It was followed by Chennai (pass percentage 92.93%). The pass percentage of Delhi region was 91.87%, revealed CBSE.
Meanwhile, board clarified it won't conduct re-examination
Last year, CBSE was forced to re-conduct exams for Class 12 Economics after the question paper got leaked. This time too news surfaced on social media that CBSE would re-conduct exams of Class 12 Physics and Economics. "This is brought to notice of Stakeholders that the news of re-conduct of Physics and Economics of Class XII is fake," the board clarified.
Class 10 results will be announced in next few days
Meanwhile, the board said Class 10 results will be declared after Class 12's. "The Class 12 results will be announced first, following which the CBSE will declare the Class 10 results after two to three days," Anurag Tripathi, the board's secretary, said.
Microsoft made it easier for students to check results
Like last year, Microsoft partnered with CBSE to announce results. Through this partnership, students and parents can check results even without an internet connection. All they have to do get themselves registered on SMS Organiser and check the results as soon as they are declared. Notably, last year networks like BSNL, MTNL, Idea, Airtel, Aircel, also made results available via SMS.
