    What's the story

The Delhi Police has uncovered horrifying details in the murder of 63-year-old physician, Dr. Yogesh Chandra Paul.

The elderly doctor was found dead in his Jangpura Extension home in Delhi on Friday, with his hands bound.

Officials revealed on Saturday that Dr. Paul had been brutally tortured, struck on the head with a blunt object, and strangled using the leash of one of his two dogs.

    Suspects' actions

4 suspects identified in physician's murder

CCTV footage captured near Dr. Paul's residence has led police to identify four suspects involved in the crime.

According to an officer close to the investigation, one suspect stood guard outside while the other three entered Paul's home.

The accused reportedly assaulted Paul, gagged him, and tied him to a chair before dragging him into the kitchen, where they inflicted further harm and ultimately strangled him with the leash.

The accused had locked the doctor's two dogs in the bathroom.

    Community reaction

Investigation continues as community mourns beloved doctor

The crime was discovered when Paul's wife, Neena, returned home from work.

The couple's two daughters, one residing in Canada and the other in Noida, were informed of their father's tragic demise.

Neighbors remember Paul as a popular doctor who ran a clinic from his home and treated poor patients free of charge.

On Saturday, residents held a candlelight march in the locality to mourn the loss and express concerns over inadequate police patrolling.

    Investigation progress

Police pursue leads in ongoing murder investigation

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo stated that they have strong leads and the investigation is at a crucial stage.

Raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend the accused.

A case of murder and robbery has been registered, with police not ruling out the possibility of an insider or someone known to Dr.Paul being involved in the crime.
