    What's the story

In a gruesome incident, Maoists blew up a bus in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Thursday, killing 4 people, including one security personnel.

The attack took place near Bacheli area, and two soldiers of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) died.

Last week, in an attack by Maoists a Doordarshan cameraperson lost his life, while two of his colleagues had a close shave.

    The attack

Personnel were returning to camp after shopping, were attacked

Initial reports suggested the Naxals triggered an IED blast on a bus.

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava told PTI the bus was attacked while personnel were on their way back from the grocery market.

The civilians who died included the bus driver, cleaner and conductor.

The CISF unit was deployed for the first phase of upcoming elections.

    Elections

PM Modi expected to visit Chhattisgarh soon

The attack happened a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Jagdalpur for an election rally. Jagdalpur is about 100 kms away from where the attack happened.

Notably, assembly elections in Chhattisgarh will be held in two phases on November 12 and November 20.

Bastar, a Maoist dominated area, goes into elections in the first phase.
