Chhattisgarh: Constable pushes accident victim's body with foot; suspended
A Chhattisgarh Police constable, Neeraj Sahu, allegedly pushed an accident victim's body with his foot, prompting authorities to suspend him. Sunil Kurre (18), hailing from Nawagarh town of Bemetara district, was killed yesterday after a truck hit his motorcycle on Bemetara-Kawardha road, Bemetara Senior Superintendent of Police HR Manhar said. Manhar said the constable's act was highly condemnable; he was suspended with immediate effect.
Kurre died on the spot, sister escaped unhurt
The accident took place when Kurre was near Pikri village along with his sister who was riding pillion. Kurre, who was crushed by the truck, died on the spot, but his sister escaped unhurt, Manhar said.
Constable's act amounted to serious negligence: SSP
On getting information about the accident, a Bemetara police team reached the spot to take the body to the hospital in their patrol vehicle, Manhar said. Sahu, who was part of the team, allegedly used his foot to push the body inside the police vehicle, the SSP said. The constable's act amounted to serious negligence, the SSP added further.
