Man held for hoax bomb-threat at US consulate in Chennai
A 30-year-old man, Saubar Sadik Basha, was arrested for making a hoax call to police control room last night about a bomb planted at US Consulate in Chennai, that would go off in early hours of Friday, police said today. However, nothing suspicious was found after a thorough search of the consulate premises by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and sniffer dogs.
Investigation led to the arrest of the man
The Royapettah police started investigating the matter and traced the call to Basha, a resident of Mannady area, following which he was arrested, police said.
