Chennai delivery executive dies by suicide after argument with customer
A 19-year-old delivery executive in Chennai died by suicide on Wednesday after allegedly being scolded by a customer for late delivery. The deceased, identified as Pavithran, was found dead at his residence. In a suicide note recovered from the scene, he blamed the customer's harsh treatment for his extreme step. "The reason for my death - I went into depression after being scolded by the person during the delivery," he wrote in the note.
Argument over delayed delivery led to suicide
The incident that allegedly led to Pavithran's suicide occurred on September 11, when he was delivering food in the Korattur area. He reportedly couldn't locate the customer's house, resulting in a delay that sparked a heated argument. On finding the house, the customer reprimanded him and later filed a formal complaint about the service. Two days after this incident, tensions escalated when Pavithran allegedly hurled a stone at the customer's residence, breaking a window.
Customer's complaint and Pavithran's suicide
Following the window-breaking incident, the customer lodged a police complaint against Pavithran. On Wednesday, he was found hanging from the ceiling of his home. The Kolathur Police arrived at the scene and sent his body to Kilpauk Government Hospital for an autopsy. The police have launched an investigation into Pavithran's suicide.
