#Chandrayaan2: In major heartbreak, Vikram lander loses communication with ISRO
As a billion Indians waited with bated breath to witness the touchdown of Vikram lander onto the Moon, it lost contact with ISRO. K Sivan, the chief of the space organization and the project director, said, "Vikram descent was normal and as planned up till an altitude of 2.1 km, after which communication was lost." He added the data is being analyzed.
Initial phases of descent were successful
The descent of the Moon lander started at 1:37 am, and the initial phases were absolutely successful. Subsequently, the powered descent, which means rough braking of the lander began. But as the lander neared the lunar surface, it lost contact with ISRO, making the atmosphere tensed. It's still not clear what caused this roadblock in the communication.
