Center approves 264km-long 4-lane highway along Indo-Bhutan border: Assam CM
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal yesterday said the Center agreed in principle to construct a 264km-long four-lane highway along the Indo-Bhutan border. "The new connectivity would bring in revolutionary changes not only in connectivity but also in trade and commerce of the areas," Sonowal said. He said that after getting clearance from Ministry of Forest and Environment, the construction work will start on full throttle.
Assam-govt playing role of catalyst to Central govt's efforts: Sonowal
The Assam government is playing the role of a catalyst to Central government's efforts in bringing about infrastructural development along the border areas, Sonowal said. On the publication of the final Draft National Register of Citizens on July 30, he said genuine Indian citizens whose names are left out from it would get an opportunity to enroll through the disposal of claims and objections.
