Celebratory firing: Woman succumbs to injuries, former JDU MLA arrested
What's the story
A woman, who was wounded in celebratory firing during a New Year's Eve party at former JDU MLA Raju Singh's farmhouse, succumbed to injuries today.
The woman, identified as Archana Gupta, was shot in the head.
She was admitted in a "critical condition" at a private hospital in Delhi's Vasant Kunj.
The former Bihar MLA and his driver were arrested yesterday, said police.

Pistol, rifle seized from Raju's vehicle in which he fled
A pistol and rifle were seized from the car in which Raju fled from the spot after the incident, Special Commissioner of Police, Law and Order (south), R P Upadhyay said.
"We have arrested Raju Singh and Hari Singh from Gorakhpur (UP) yesterday. They'll be produced in a city court later in the day. Police will seek their remand for seven days," he added.

The incident
Archana was attending New Year celebrations at Raju Singh's farmhouse
Police had earlier seized two rifles and 800 bullets from Raju Singh's Vasant Kunj farmhouse.
In his complaint to police, Archana's husband Vikas Gupta had said that they were at the farmhouse Monday night to celebrate the New Year along with friends and around midnight, two-three rounds were fired by Raju Singh.
Immediately, he noticed that his wife had fallen down and was bleeding.
Inquiry
Many reluctant to testify as Singh is 'high profile': Cops
Delhi Police was informed and a medicolegal case was registered, a hospital spokesperson said.
Raju Singh was booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Arms Act, police said, adding that he has five other cases registered against him.
Police have so far questioned around 35 people, including the domestic help. Many are reluctant to testify as Singh is "high profile," said cops.

Raju, brothers, respective families live in the farmhouse
The farmhouse is owned by Raju Singh's mother where he lives with his family. Singh's two brothers also live with their families in the farmhouse, police said. His wife is a former member of the legislative council from Bihar, they added.
