In major breach, Ivanka Trump's dinner aired live on TV
Despite going all out to ensure a grand time for Ivanka Trump in Hyderabad, Telangana Police was left embarrassed over a major security breach when PM Narendra Modi was hosting her for dinner. Media wasn't allowed at the Falaknuma Palace event, so it was a shock when channels started broadcasting live CCTV feed. An initial report attributed the mistake to the police commissioner's office.
What happened?
On the evening of November 28, Modi was hosting Trump and other GES delegates for dinner at Falaknuma Palace. Suddenly, around 9:42pm, some national channels started airing live CCTV feed from the event; Modi was seen talking to Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and governor ESL Narasimhan on a sofa. The PMO immediately alerted the Special Protection Group, who alerted Telangana Police.
Breach in security was tracked to senior cops
Cops urgently called up the channels and stopped airing of the event, but an enquiry has left them red-faced. The breach was tracked to the command and control centre at the Hyderabad police commissioner's office, which was found to have been the source of the broadcast. Apparently, senior cops had let mediapersons inside the centre when the dinner was on.
