#CBSE2019: Important dates to remember for X, XII board exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the date sheet for this year's 10th and 12th board exams soon. Reports suggest, the board has completed pre-examination formalities. Many are expecting the date sheet to be released sooner than its usual January schedule, as vocational examinations will be starting from the second-half of February and Class 12 practical examinations from mid-January.
Expect your board exam results by May 15
According to the website cbse.nic.in, it's expected that examinations of some academic subjects opted by a small number of students will be held in February second-half. Examinations for other subjects will be held in March. The results are expected to be released earlier than usual by May 15, so as to complete the revaluation results before June 1, when the Delhi University admissions begin.
Jan 6-Feb 15: Duration of class 12 practical examinations
Meanwhile, the CBSE has released the practical exam dates for Class 12 students. According to the schedule, the practical exam for class 12 will be held from January 16-February 15, 2019. However, the board may stretch or change the schedule considering the fact that the first phase of JEE Mains 2019 is scheduled to be conducted between January 6-20, on multiple dates.
Vocational examination to be conducted in February second-half
According to the CBSE website, the vocational examinations will be held in the second-half of February. CBSE has also given a list of over 100 vocational subjects for Class 10th and 12th, which include subjects from different fields like Carnatic Music, Regional dances (Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali), Fashion Studies, Topography, among others. Do note that the list is tentative.
Delhi HC directed CBSE to complete results before DU admissions
The final list of vocational subjects would be released only along with the date sheet for the CBSE Board Examinations 2019. The decision to conduct vocational examinations in February was taken in order to complete the results before the DU admission begins. The Delhi High Court in August had directed the CBSE to complete the results formalities before the DU admission begins.
