CBSE Class-12: These girls fought against fate to score 96+%
Every year, we hear of exceptional success stories of students overcoming massive barriers to shine bright during results. Nidhi Upadhyay, Srishti Singh and Lavanya Jha of Delhi-NCR are three such students who have left their friends in awe. While Nidhi and Srishti had to struggle through financial constraints, Lavanya appeared the exams with only 60% eyesight. All three scored above 96% in CBSE Class-12.
Nidhi's autorickshaw-driver father worked day and night to support her
Nidhi, a student of Mahamaya Balika Inter College in Noida Sector-44, is the daughter of an autorickshaw driver in Vaishali. Ram Prakash said he worked day and night to ensure Nidhi gets the best resources. Today, he's a proud father: Nidhi scored an impressive 96.2 %. Apart from him, she credits her teachers for their support too. She now plans to become an IAS officer.
Srishti's family couldn't even pay her school fees
Like her, Srishti is the daughter of a small shop owner in Atta Market. She too is a student of the same college. Her family was so deep in trouble that they couldn't pay her fees in school. Things worsened when she fell ill. But Srishti persevered. Her teachers helped by holding special classes. After scoring 96.8%, she now aims to become an army-doctor.
Due to genetic disorder, Lavanya lost 40-43% of her vision
For Lavanya of DPS-RK Puram, the battle was physical. She had moved from Patna to Delhi to pursue higher secondary. She was diagnosed with a genetic disorder in Class 9, which led to her losing "40-43% of her vision," her father said. But with self-discipline and regular practice, she continued working hard. She has now scored 97.4% and wants to pursue psychology from LSR.
