CBSE paper leak: Students want re-exam for all subjects
What's the story
Only a handful of people were presumably involved in leaking question papers of the ongoing CBSE school finals, but effects are being felt by 28.L students and their families.
Many had entrance tests, vacations and other work scheduled; plans are now likely to go for a toss.
Moreover, papers were leaked for several subjects, so why re-tests for only two, asked protesting students.

Students found out about re-exam minutes after completing their test
CBSE, in charge of conducting 24 exams annually for 1.2cr students, declared yesterday they would hold re-tests for Class 10 Math and Class 12 Economics exams due to paper leaks.
They announced it minutes after Class 10 students finished their Math exam, and after officially denying leaks several times.
But rumors had abounded about Class 12 Accountancy, Biology, Chemistry and English paper leaks too.

'How is it my fault? Why am I being punished?'
CBSE's handling of the matter came under severe criticism. It has now come to light that the CBSE chief saw the leaked paper Tuesday evening, much before Wednesday's exam. So why wasn't it postponed, students asked.
Some wondered why the Board had kept denying the leaks when it already knew.
Others asked how CBSE would be able to guarantee the re-test paper won't leak.

Are electronically coded question papers the future?
As students in Delhi assembled at Jantar Mantar to protest, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar assured strict action. "I also couldn't sleep, I'm also a parent," he said.
Meanwhile, the CBSE is mulling having electronically-coded papers and giving exam-centers the key one-hour before exams. Centers will then have to print them.
However, many called it impractical, as all centers might not have the required resources.

Role of certain schools, coaching centers under the scanner
Delhi Police, which has lodged two FIRs in the Math and Economics paper leaks, are now focusing on the role of CBSE officials, school staff, and those involved in distribution.
The CBSE's complaint mentions two schools and a coaching center in Delhi's Rajinder Nagar.
Raids are being conducted and suspects questioned.
Dates for the two re-examinations will be announced within a week.
