CBSE paper-leak: Probe spreads to Jharkhand, Bihar, inter-state gangs suspected
The probe in the CBSE question paper leak case, which was till now limited to Delhi, has now extended to other states as police investigate the possible involvement of inter-state gangs. After questioning more than 30 people in Delhi, police have now detained at least six students and a coaching center owner in Chatra, Jharkhand. A Jharkhand Police team has left for Bihar.
10 involved WhatsApp groups detected in Delhi
The leak of Class-10 Math and Class-12 Economics paper was first detected in the national capital. Delhi Police suspect around 1,000 students had the paper before the exam. Till now, they have identified over 10 WhatsApp groups, each with 50 members, suspected to be involved in the leak. Police have raided several schools and coaching centers and interrogated over 30 people, including DU students.

CBSE writes to Google seeking details of leak-threat email
It's now been reported that the gangs in Delhi received the question paper on WhatsApp from others in Bihar and Jharkhand. Meanwhile, CBSE has written to Google seeking details of an email sent to the Board Chairperson before the leak, warning him beforehand. It had images of the question paper attached. 1.7mn Class-10 students and 500,000 Class-12 students will now have to undergo re-tests.
