Economics was easy, not long, practical helped: CBSE Class-12 students
CBSE Class 12 students who appeared the Economics exam today felt there were some tricky questions, but overall the paper was easy and not long. Questions were largely from NCERT books. Many said they completed it before time. Students' performance in Economics has been unsatisfactory since few years. In an attempt to ease the pattern, the CBSE had introduced 20-mark practicals this time.
'Some questions tricky, but fewer numerical problems, paper easy'
According to Ankita Malviya (Bhopal), "Some questions in the second section were tricky but overall the paper was easy. I am expecting a good score." For Priya Jain (Delhi), "one or two questions" in macroeconomics were difficult, but overall, "the paper was easy." Harsha Mohta (Delhi) said there were fewer numerical problems, so "we were able to solve the paper beforehand with ease."
'Practical component will help push up performance'
"I think this was the easiest paper of the past five years as the questions were direct and straightforward from textbooks only. Numericals were also direct from the book. Not even a single question was tricky," said Economics Teacher Rakesh Mishra of Delhi. Introduction of the practical component will "definitely improve (performance) from this year onwards," he added.
Class 12 exams to end on April 13
The Class 12 exams began with English on March 5 and will end with Physical Education on April 13. As many as 11,86,306 candidates have registered for the exams this year. Exams are being conducted across 4,138 centers in India and 71 abroad.
