'English paper was easy, not lengthy': CBSE Class-10 students relieved
After complaints of CBSE Class 12 students that their English question paper was too long, Class 10 candidates were relieved and satisfied with theirs. The overall opinion was that barring a few questions, it was easy and not long. Most said they completed it in less than three hours. Teachers said though it would be hard to score 100, students could easily score well.
'Easy barring literature section, sufficient time to complete paper'
According to Vedant Pandey (Allahabad), "The question paper was easy. The pattern was also familiar as it was similar to pre-board exams." "There was sufficient time to complete it," said Siddhika Singh (Nagpur). "Grammar was easy, reading passage didn't cause many problems," said Aditya Jibbhkate (Nagpur). But some like Vinayak Sharma (Jaipur) and Jitesh Chaudhary (Delhi) faced difficulty in the literature section.
'Balanced, student-friendly paper, in accordance with CBSE's prescribed patterns'
Teachers agreed, calling it a "balanced" question paper. Sharmila Mukherjee (Allahabad) said, "It was in accordance with prescribed patterns and syllabus. Even an average student could score well." Dr Meenu Gupta (Delhi) said, "It was quite student-friendly with ample choice as prescribed by CBSE." "All the three sets have the same questions, with only a change in their sequence," added Rita Bhalla (Delhi).
Class 10 exams to end on April 4
The Class 10 board exams are being held after a gap of seven years. In the meantime, the grade system had been adopted. 16,38,428 candidates have registered this year. The exams will end on April 4. The board has relaxed passing criteria this time.
