#CBSE2019: Tips for parents of students appearing for Class-10 exams
The 2018-19 CBSE Board Exams for Class-10 core subjects began on 7 March and will go on until 29 March. Exam time can be stressful not only for the students but their parents too. During this time, parents play a crucial role in helping children cope with exam stress and perform better in board exams. Here are some tips for parents of Class-10 students.
Help your child prepare a timetable, plan their preparation process
To do well in the board exams, having a proper time table and planning for every subject is very important. Parents can help children create a study timetable, ensuring they have sufficient time to revise all the chapters. Parents should also allow kids to relax and take breaks in between study sessions. They should let them study or revise at their own pace.
#2: Help children in studying for the exams
Parents can also assist children in studying for the exams. They can sit with them and clear any doubts they have or suggest ways to improve performance. Even if parents cannot clear doubts, just being present for them and boosting their morale can work wonders.
Students should not be forced to study for long hours
Parents should ensure their kids take breaks, eat healthy, relax, and get sufficient sleep too. They shouldn't force students to study for longer periods as it might affect their health negatively. It is important for parents to know if their children are stressed out or showing any signs or stress. They should understand that showing their support can work wonders for their kid's performance.
#4: Parents should not compare their child with others
For parents, one of the most important things to do during the board exam is to avoid comparing their children's performance, marks, preparation process or strategy, etc. with those of other children or their friends as it may demotivate them.
Should help children cope with the exam pressure
Parents should help their children cope with the exam pressure. During the stressful time as pressure mounts on them, children might get tensed and look up to parents for support and help to cope with the stress. So, parents shouldn't demotivate or demoralize their children or break them mentally. They must encourage their children with a positive attitude and help them.
