CBSE compartment exam for classes X, XII scheduled in July
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting compartment examinations for classes X and XII from July 2. While regular students need to approach their respective schools, private students need to fill the application online. Notably, the last date to apply without late fee is May 22. The examination will be conducted in 4,974 centers in the country. Here are the details.
Schools will submit list of students appearing for compartment exams
Regular students will have to approach their schools to appear for the compartment examination, and the school will in turn submit the list. While the fee per subject for regular students in India and abroad is Rs. 300 and Rs. 2000 respectively, the same for private candidates is Rs. 200 and Rs. 1000. Any form with incomplete or wrong information will be rejected.
For those applying late, there is a fee
For those applying late, be ready to shell out Rs. 1,000 (May 23-29) and Rs. 5000 (May 30-June 5). The complete schedule of the examination and the admit cards for the same will be available in the third week of June. Meanwhile, students should note that for any query, they can reach out to the concerned Regional Office of the Board.
Call the helpline number of CBSE in case of queries
CBSE has provided also helpline number (1800-11-8002 or 011-22509257-58-59) where students can reach out between 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on working days in case of any query. In addition, the Board has provided a list of 11 regional offices along with their contact information.
Here is how private students can fill their respective forms
For private students willing to appear for the compartment exams, here's how to apply: 1- Go to CBSE's website, cbse.nic.in 2- Open the link 'Online Submission of forms by private candidates' in the recent announcement. 3- Click on the link provided in the notice. 4- Select the tab according to your class, and login using your roll number, school number and examination center number.
CBSE provides three attempts to clear a failed subject
CBSE provides three attempts to students to clear a compartment exam. For instance, if a student fails in a subject in the Boards 2019, he/she will be given a chance to retake the exam in July/August 2019, followed by March/April 2020 and lastly, in July/August 2020. If a candidate fails in all the attempts or does not appear, they will be considered "failed."
