Drunk teacher chops off student's hair on Teachers's Day
In a shocking incident that took place on Teachers's Day, a government primary school teacher from Semalkhedi in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district was caught on camera cutting a student's hair as punishment. The teacher, identified as Veer Singh Medha, was reportedly drunk at the time of the incident. A video of the disturbing event shows the young girl crying inconsolably while one of her classmates tries to comfort her.
Teacher's misconduct leads to criminal case
The incident came to light when a local villager intervened after hearing the girl's cries. The villager discovered that Medha was intoxicated and continued to cut the girl's hair despite being confronted. When threatened with video evidence, Medha reportedly responded defiantly, stating that no one would be able to take any action against him even if the video was shot.
Viral video leads to teacher's suspension
The video of the incident quickly went viral, capturing the attention of Ratlam District Collector Rajesh Batham. Batham ordered an investigation into the matter and subsequently issued a suspension order for Medha. "A criminal case is being registered against the teacher for his misconduct following this incident," Batham was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. Ranjana Singh, Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Department suspended the teacher.
