J&K Police to soon have bulletproof vehicles; Centre allocates funds
Jammu & Kashmir Police will soon get bulletproof jackets and vehicles as the Centre allocated funds for procuring the same. Home Minister Rajnath Singh made the announcement in Anantnag district, where six policemen were killed in a terror attack three months ago. He paid tribute to ASI Abdul Rasheed who was martyred after terrorists opened fired at him on 28 August. Know more!

Interacting with police officials and CRPF personnel in Anantnag, Rajnath Singh said orders for bulletproof vehicles at all J&K police stations and bulletproof jackets for jawans have been issued. The move comes after SHO Feroz Ahmad's killing in Anantnag's Achabal region on 16 June. Ahmad requisitioned a bulletproof vehicle considering the dangers posed by terrorists in southern Kashmir; however, he wasn't provided one.

Rajnath Singh said: "We are proud of the police personnel. You are working in extremely challenging conditions here. I do not have words to praise the bravery of our brave personnel from Jammu and Kashmir police. Even the Prime Minister has praised your courage."

Home Minister willing to hold dialogue with anyone
Singh said he came to J&K with an open mind and will interact with anyone willing to resolve the issued being faced by the state. He stated: "This is my appeal to everyone: if you have any complaint or grievance, then approach me freely. I'm willing to hold a dialogue." He added the Centre approved funds for a police trauma center in Anantnag.
