Three-storeyed building collapses in Bhiwandi, many feared trapped
What's the story
At least one person was killed and five injured when a three-storeyed building collapsed in Mumbai's Bhiwandi this morning.
Many are still feared trapped.
"The incident happened at 9am," said Sunil Zhalke, PRO, Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation.
The building at KG Nagar, Navi Basti, was just 17 years old. "We're trying to figure out whether it was on the list of dangerous structures."

Building's location in congested area hampered rescue ops
The fire brigade, police and civic officials reached the spot in half an hour. Soon, a decision was taken to rope in two teams of the NDRF.
But the building's location in a slum, surrounded by narrow lanes, hampered operations.
There have been several building collapses in Bhiwandi, which has many illegal structures. Last year, at least four buildings collapsed during the monsoon.
