BSF soldier killed in ceasefire violation in RS Pura
A BSF soldier was killed when Pakistan fired along the IB in RS Pura sector of Jammu. The shelling started at 9pm yesterday. Both border outposts and civilian areas were targeted. Though officers have been asked to "remain in the state of highest preparedness", villagers haven't been evacuated yet. This comes two days after the Indian Army killed seven Pakistani soldiers in retaliatory firing.
Sharp rise in ceasefire violations in the last year
Last year, there were 881 incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan, a rise of over 230%. In 2016, there were just 228 cases. Thirty people were killed in the shelling, including civilians. Indian forces have given a befitting reply. Last year, it killed 138 Pakistani army personnel in retaliatory firing and tactical operations along the LoC in J&K.
Information about terrorists trying to infiltrate into India
The latest violation comes amid intel reports that three-four terrorists were camping at Chak Amru near the Sukhmal Pakistani border out post and trying to infiltrate into India. They have been seen doing recce of the strategic locations, reports said.
