Hyderabad family, pet Husky beaten with sticks by neighbors
Three members of a family in Hyderabad were viciously attacked by a group of men in Rahmatnagar on Tuesday over their pet Siberian husky. The victims have been identified as Srinath, his sister Swapna, and his mother, Rajeshwari. The dispute reportedly began last week when the dog allegedly attacked one Dhanunjay and his family members, leading to an altercation between the two families. According to reports, the matter was settled after the police intervened.
Dispute escalates into violent assault
However, on May 14, when Srinath was walking the dog outside his home, Dhanunjay and five other people attacked him and his family with sticks. In a viral video, Srikanth is seen walking the husky near his house when a man passes by. A few men can then be seen coming from the opposite direction when the dog tries to attack one of the men. Immediately thereafter, the group begins beating Srinath.
Family members and pet husky also attacked
Two women, identified as Srinath's family members, attempted to intervene but were also attacked. The CCTV footage shows one woman trying to shield Srinath from the blows while the attackers continued their assault. At one point, an attacker ran toward the dog but then turned and resumed hitting Srinath. As the dog retreated home, it was struck hard behind the entry gate by an assailant causing it to collapse on the ground.
