LPG cylinder blast kills boy, injures mother in Navi Mumbai
A five-year-old boy was killed while his mother sustained serious injuries when a wall collapsed on them after an LPG cylinder exploded at their home in Navi Mumbai this morning, the police said. The woman and her son were rushed to a hospital where the child, identified as Sohan Baban Katke, was declared dead before admission, a police official said.
Leaking LPG came in contact with flame
As the woman went to switch on the stove in the kitchen, the gas from the leaking LPG cylinder came in contact with the flame leading to the explosion, the official said. A wall of the house then collapsed on the woman and other family members who were fast asleep, he said. The Kalamboli Police in Navi Mumbai registered an accidental death report.
