Bengaluru: 11-year-old dies after BBMP-run park gate falls on him
An 11-year-old boy, Niranjan, died on Sunday after a seven-foot-high iron gate collapsed on him at the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)-run Raja Shankara Park in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru. The police reported that the incident occurred when Niranjan tried to open the "loosely-held" gate while playing with a friend. His friend managed to escape unharmed from the incident.
Boy succumbs to injuries at hospital
Niranjan was rushed to KC General Hospital with a severe head injury and significant blood loss but succumbed to his injuries. The police confirmed that the cause of death was the injuries sustained from the collapsing gate. This incident has caused distress among local residents as Raja Shankara Park is a popular spot for children, especially on weekends.

This is not the first time such an unfortunate incident has occurred. In August this year, a 13-year-old boy died in Noida after an iron bar from an under-construction house fell on his head. Following the incident, an FIR was registered against the landlord Gaurav Sharma and his uncle Devdutt Sharma, based on a complaint filed by the boy's father, Rajesh Rai.
