Faridabad: Boy detained for forcibly pouring Sindur on classmate's head
A teenage boy was detained and sent to a child observation home in Faridabad after a female classmate accused him of putting "Sindur" on her head. The incident occurred on Monday, when both the victim and the accused were on their way to school in Farukhnagar. Gurgaon police registered a case and booked the minor accused under non-bailable sections of the POCSO Act.
Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar's Statement
"We have arrested the juvenile under relevant sections of POCSO Act and due course of action is underway," Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said. "The victim in her complaint alleged that her classmate deliberately and forcibly poured red lead (Sindur) on her head. She lost her balance due to sudden action, fell down on the road and injured her head," he added.
The victim's family statement
The victim's family alleged that the accused used red lead, and not Gulal. "The investigating officer took photographs and collected samples of the color used by the minor boy and sent it for examination in a laboratory. We are trying to know if he had purchased the color or got it from his house," the officer said.
