South Delhi school evacuated after bomb threat email
Summer Fields School in Greater Kailash, South Delhi, was evacuated Friday after a bomb threat was received via email. The threat, sent at 12:30 am, was discovered by school authorities later in the morning. The Delhi Police was promptly alerted, leading to an evacuation and an immediate investigation. Cops said that nothing has been found in the investigation and legal action has been initiated.
Recent bomb threats in Delhi institutions
This incident is the latest in a series of similar threats received by various institutions in Delhi. In June this year, several museums in the city received bomb threats via email, which were later confirmed to be hoaxes. Prior to that, numerous schools and hospitals also received bomb threat emails that were subsequently determined to be false alarms.
Minor sends hoax bomb threat to Dubai-bound flight 'for fun'
In June, a 13-year-old boy was recently detained by the Delhi Police for sending a hoax bomb threat to a Dubai-bound flight from Delhi airport. The boy admitted to sending the email "just for fun." Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Usha Rangnani had said that the boy was inspired by news of another teenager making a similar prank call days earlier.
