    Gujarat-shocker: Two blind teachers rape minor blind girl for months

    What's the story

    In a gruesome incident reported from Gujarat, a minor girl alleged that she was repeatedly raped by two blind teachers of a special school in Ambaji.

    One of the teachers is said to be 62 years old.

    The horror meted on the 15-year-old survivor got attention after she narrated the ordeal to her aunt.

    Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.

    What happened

    Girl enrolled herself to learn music at school

    The survivor hails from the Premnagar village of Patan district's Radhanpur taluka.

    After studying till Class 8 in her native village, she was enrolled in the special school to learn music in July this year.

    The institution said to be five years old, is known for providing rehabilitation and vocational training to specially-abled kids. The survivor was living in a hostel, reports TOI.

    Rape

    Both teachers raped her in same room

    According to the complaint registered by the victim's aunt on November 4, she was raped in the music room by 30-year-old Jayanti Thakor, nearly two months ago.

    Three days later, the older teacher Chaman Thakor also raped her in the same room.

    Allegedly, Jayanti raped her again before Navratri celebrations began. She said the assault stopped only after she confided in three other teachers.

    Accused teachers are absconding, manhunt has been launched

    The survivor's family got a whiff of the incident after she refused to return to school post Diwali vacations. Narrating the ordeal to her aunt, the victim broke down.

    It's reported that both the accused teachers have been dismissed from the school after the complaint was registered.

    Meanwhile, Ambaji's police inspector JB Agrawat said a manhunt has been launched to track the absconding teachers.
