Uttarakhand BJP leader sacked after party worker alleges sexual harassment?
The BJP has decided to remove a Uttarakhand general secretary over allegations of sexual harassment by a former party worker, sources said. Other reports suggest that the leader has already been removed from his position. An official announcement, however, is yet to be made. The harassment took place six months ago, it is alleged and there has been no formal complaint, party leaders said.
Party is looking into the allegations, says BJP media cell
Asked about the allegations against Sanjay Kumar, the general-secretary in question, Devendra Bhasin, head (state unit media cell) said the party is aware of it and is looking into them. State BJP President Ajay Bhatt, confirming the same, however said, "Whatever I know of the incident is through newspapers. As the matter involves a general secretary, it'd not be proper for me to comment."
