UP: BJP MP's son shot, cops claim attack was staged
The son of BJP MP Kaushal Kishore from Mohanlalganj constituency was shot at in the Madiaon area of Lucknow on early Wednesday, but the police claimed that he had staged the attack on him by his brother-in-law. Ayush (30) was shot at in the Madiaon area around 2 am. He was rushed to a hospital from where he was discharged after first-aid.
Weapon has been recovered by the police
DK Thakur, Commissioner of Police of Lucknow said, "The probe so far has indicated that he (Ayush) staged the firing at him by his brother-in-law. No one has filed a complaint. We will do it as the weapon used in the act has been recovered."
Ayush's brother-in-law has been arrested, admitted he shot Ayush
The main accused Adarsh, Ayush's brother-in-law has been detained. Manoj Kumar Singh, SHO, Madiaon Police station said, "Adarsh has admitted that he fired at Ayush to implicate some persons." Navbharat Times quoted Adarsh as saying, "I don't know who he wanted to implicate but Ayush said there are four or five people. Chandan Gupta, Manish Jaiswal, and Pradeep Singh Kumar, and two others."
My son did not name anyone at the hospital: Kishore
BJP MP Kishore said that his son did not name anyone at the hospital. "He just said that he had gone out with his brother-in-law when the attack took place," the MP added. "Ayush and Adarsh know better what they are saying. They did not have enmity with anyone. Why will they get someone implicated, I have no idea," Kishore said.
Police will investigate Ayush's wife's involvement
As per a Navbharat Times report, Kishore's family was unhappy with Ayush's love marriage and had severed ties with him. "Ayush had threatened to commit suicide," the publication quoted Kishore as saying. Reportedly, Ayush's wife is also within the ambit of investigation.
