BJP invites foreign political representatives to witness Lok Sabha elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has invited political delegates from around the world to observe its election campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. Sixteen political factions from seven countries have agreed to participate in observing the electoral proceedings during the third and fourth voting phases. The party has also invited foreign diplomats stationed in India to experience its grassroots and social media campaigning. These international visitors will be dispatched to various states after an initial briefing in New Delhi.
Delegates to arrive in India for election observation
Vijai Chauthaiwale, head of BJP's foreign diplomacy wing, revealed that the international political delegates are expected to arrive in India in early May. He also mentioned that the party will soon announce a list of attending party representatives. Delegates from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bhutan, Mauritius, Tanzania, and Uganda have confirmed their participation. Notably absent from the invitation list were Pakistan and China.
BJP's outreach to European and American political parties
Invitations have also been extended to European political parties, although some may not be able to attend due to concurrent elections in the EU. The BJP has reached out to representatives of American political parties as well. A Delhi-based diplomat may even attend one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rallies. Chauthaiwale emphasized that this isn't the first time the party has invited foreign representatives and diplomats, citing previous invitations during state elections in Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
