Tripura CM Biplab Deb's gaffes have recently made people laugh and invited criticism for BJP, but party president Amit Shah said he was satisfied with his groundwork. When asked about Deb's remarks, Shah told a channel, "He is new, he'll understand." Shah's remarks come in wake of Biplab Deb's statement where he said Rabindranath Tagore returned his Nobel Prize in protest against British. *Slow clap*
Biplab Deb's truth vs real truth
Rabindranath Tagore was awarded the Nobel Prize for his poetry in 1913, which stayed with him till he died in 1941. The Nobel laureate refused Knighthood in 1919, in protest of Jallianwalla Bagh massacre. But obviously, Deb, who was speaking at the three-day-long Rajarshi festival at the Bhubaneswari temple in Udaipur, didn't care to read history books.
Tripura CM's statement invites flak from Congress
"It's a request from our side that he (Deb) do a deep study on subjects he would like to speak on before an audience. Confusing the knighthood with the Nobel Prize is not expected of a chief minister," said Congress leader Tapas Dey.

No wonder, Deb has become Internet's favorite joke.
