Bihar: Students score 38/35 in class 12 exams. What's happening?
In Bihar, some students were left stunned on seeing their mark sheets of class 12th board exams. No, not because the marks were disappointing, but because it got a bit too overwhelming. A few students got more marks than the grand total. One student said he wasn't surprised considering the board's notorious image. This incident puts the spotlight on failing state machinery once again.
While one student wasn't surprised, another was shocked
Arwal district's Bhim Kumar got 38 out of the total 35 marks in mathematics (theory) and 37 out of 35 in objective questions. "Such things have been happening in the state board exams for long," he said. Another student Sandeep Raj scored 38 out of 35 in Physics, and 0 in the objective paper. He said it was impossible.
Some students scored marks in subjects they didn't appear for
If students procuring more marks than the total wasn't enough, some got marks for a subject they didn't even write an exam for. For example, Janvi Singh from Vaishali didn't give the Biology examination, yet scored 18. Similarly, Satya Kumar from Patna, who is a student of Ram Krishna Dwarika College, got marks for a paper he didn't write.
Only two years ago, topper scam rocked Bihar
Two years ago, the topper scam of Bihar was unearthed after Ruby Rai, the supposed topper of class 12, wasn't even able to pronounce her subjects clearly. On her answer sheets, she had written, 'Tulsidas Pranaam'. Considering how students have been given marks irresponsibly this time, it seems nothing has changed in Bihar. Except for Kalpana Kumari, the Bihar student who topped NEET.
