Attackers reportedly attempted to burn Kumar alive
Sanjay Kumar alleged that he was dragged from his house on third-floor, and beaten. The attackers reportedly tried to burn him alive, as he shared that Facebook post. But, he said he could have been beaten for protesting the decisions of Vice-Chancellor in the past. "I also received a threat call from attackers, who warned me to not protest against the V-C," Kumar alleged.

Notably, Kumar and other professors had earlier staged a protest against reservation and faculty appointment in the University. In a video of the incident, Kumar can be seen trying to get the attackers off, and them holding and beating him. A voice can be heard saying if he wanted to become another Kanhaiya Kumar. The victim alleged an attacker called him 'terrorist'.
