Bihar: 3 family members found murdered; acid poured on faces
Three members of a family were found brutally murdered at their home in Bihar's Begusarai district on Saturday. The victims, identified as Sanjeevan Mahto (40), his wife Sanjita, and their 10-year-old daughter Sapna, had their throats slit and acid poured on them. Their seven-year-old son, Ankush Kumar, was found critically injured and has been hospitalized.
Neighbors found family dead at home
The gruesome discovery was made by a neighbor who grew concerned when the family did not open their door by 7:00am on Saturday morning. When they peeked into the house, they found the family lying dead in a room covered in blood. According to reports, the Mahto family had celebrated a puja on Friday night and distributed sweets in the neighborhood before retiring to bed around midnight.
Family suspects local resident behind murders
The motive behind the murders is still unclear, but the victims' family suspects that a local resident named Bhola Das may be responsible due to an ongoing land dispute. Sanjeevan had purchased land from Bhola, which led to a dispute between the two families. Bhola had even filed a lawsuit against the Mahto family. Meanwhile, Begusarai Police has registered an FIR under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in Bachwara police station.
